This is my favorite holiday and we had some fun, making an altar for our dead loved ones....Xochitl loved hanging with her ancestors and her new friends. We prayed and sang songs for our loved ones. We lit candles and made offrendas and decorated sugar skulls

I wanted to share the set up in Xochitl's room, its a traditional Montessori infant environment, bed is on the floor, standing bar with low shelving for easy access.....Xochitl's room is her room, it fits her, we adapt to her level not force her to work in a world that is too big....She loves it

The face of Rosela

This last month we dealt with our 1st sickness and it was really horrible week or two, The 1st 5 days we fought a nasty fever 103 for the 1st 3 days we just toughed it out with baths and cool cloths but by day 4 I was a little worried and decided to give her the baby advil which helped and brought the fever down.
Then in the midst of the worry i texted one of my momma friends who had just fought the same symptoms in her little Kai, It turns out he had a virus called Rosela and he gave it to Xochitl. The fever was followed by a rash for about 2 days

It was lame!!!

Got Thrush???

This last month Xochitl and I fought a nasty case of thrush, Gentian violet seems to work but has some risks, we also altered our diet significantly with a yeast free and sugar free diet. I also did Acidophilous paste on my nipples in my bra and other assorted things to minimize the growth of yeast

She is walking and it is AWESOME! This little walker can range in price from $30-50 but it is worth every penny, She loves it and it has allowed her to be mobile before she was 100% walking.....It clackity clacks but it is perfect!!!
